The rehabilitation natural vegetation in degraded ecosystems is impossible without the involvement and support of local communities, said conservators and foresters while addressing an international seminar on "Challenges impacting Conservation and Rehabilitation of Natural Vegetation in Three Threatened Dry-Land Ecosystems of Punjab" at the Pakistan Botanic Gardens Network Secretariat (PBGNS).
The seminar was organised by the Government College University Lahore Sustainable Development Study Centre (GCU SDSC) in collaboration with Botanic Gardens Conservation International UK (BGCI), World Wide Fund for Nature and Natural Resources (WWF - Pak) and Punjab Forest Department.
BGCI UK Regional Director BGCI Joazhim Gratzfeld was the chief guest while Punjab Secretary Forestry Babar Hassan Bharwana and PGBNS Director Dr Amin Ul Haq Khan also addressed the seminar. The seminar was attended by conservators and foresters of Punjab representatives from WWF Pak and SDSC faculty members and students.
