Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa on Friday termed increase in the prices of petroleum prices an enmity with people. He said that instead of providing relief to the masses, federal government is creating problems for them.
"The prices will skyrocket due to the increase in the prices of petroleum products and lives of people will become more miserable. Instead of curtailing its expenses, federal government is aggravating problems of the poor masses. It has lost its credibility due to wrong and anti-people policies during the last three years," he said.
According to him, increase in the prices of petroleum products has created a lot of problems for the poor masses, including middle class and white-collar people. After the recent increase, prices of every thing, including transport fares will increase automatically. The federal government has totally failed in every sector and punishing people for its own failures.
If the amount of more than rupees three billion, wasted in public sector corporations is saved and corruption is overcome, not only government expenditures can be reduced but relief can also be provided to the people. Khosa called upon the federal government not to put burden of increase in the prices of petroleum products on people in this era of price-hike and immediately withdraw the decision.
