Lahore High Court here Thursday sought reply from interior ministry by April 19 in a petition filed regarding alleged missing families of Faizan and Faheem, killed by Raymond Davis. On Tuesday, an assistant advocate general Wali Khan filed a written statement of Punjab law minister, Rana Sanaullah Khan about the status of alleged missing families.
According to the statement, both families were last reported to be present in the court of additional district and sessions judge Yousaf Aojla at Kot Lakhpat jail. Later, they left the jail premises along with their counsel Raja Irshad. The counsel had taken them to Rawalpindi, law minister said adding that there was every likelihood that the families might be in Rawalpindi.
The law officer also referred to some media reports, which said the families of deceased Faizan and Faheem had accepted blood money on their freewill and they were free to live wherever they want. The officer requested the court to dismiss the petition.
According to petitioner Advocate Malik Munsif Awan, these families went missing since they pardoned Raymond on March 16, 2011 after accepting the blood money. Advocate Awan apprehended that somebody had kidnapped them as they had a huge amount of rupees 200 million with them and their lives could be in danger. He said there are also apprehensions that they were forced to accept blood money for the release of Davis. He therefore prayed to the court to direct the concerned authorities to recover the families and present them before the court.
