United States ambassador to Pakistan, Cameron Munter has condoled the death of personnel of Frontier Corps in Lower Dir. In a statement he said, "the terrible attack on Frontier Corps forces in Lower Dir and the death of Pakistani soldiers and law enforcement officials is a tragic loss. I extend my personal condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack."
He said the United States deeply admires and respects the commitment and sacrifices of Pakistan's military forces in the fight against violent extremists. "We will continue to work with the people and government of Pakistan to build a peaceful and secure future for its citizens," he added.
