Two persons were injured by gunshots and three vehicles were burnt including a police mobile, here on Friday during a strike call given by Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM). JSMM (Shafi Burfat Group) had given the call in reaction to the killing of his party's three activists including the party's Vice-Chairman Sirai Qurban Khawarh in an ambush in Sanghar on Thursday.
Unknown persons set on fire a police mobile on Wadu Wah Road in Qasimabad but no one was hurt in the incident. However, the rioters burnt a container truck on Hyderabad Bypass and opened fire on the driver and cleaner of the truck who were later shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad.
According to doctors, the driver was hit in the abdomen, while the cleaner was shot at his foot. Meanwhile, the attackers also set ablaze a bus after evicting all its passengers near the bridge on Indus River, which connects Kotri tehsil of Jamshoro with Hyderabad. On the other hand, shops, restaurants and petrol pumps were forced into closure, as aerial firing was reported from several areas.
The education process in the three universities in Jamshoro was also greatly disturbed, as classes did not take place at all departments owing to lack of student attendance. Three activists of JSMM were killed in Sanghar on Thursday by unknown assailants near Khipro Canal bridge, while one was injured who was shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad.
