Qazi Hussain Ahmed, former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has said that independence and integrity of the country could be defended only through national unity and harmony. He was addressing the concluding session of the weeklong Fehm-e-Qur'an course at Mansoora area, on Sunday.
Qazi Hussain said that Islam is our identity and we are called Muslims. Therefore, Muslims of all sects and schools of thought should sink petty differences and unite on one platform. He said that the forces of 'kufr' led by the US have invaded Islam and Muslims. They have the agenda to wipe out Islam and Islamic civilisation and thrust their devilish culture and sub-human way of life on the world. He said the Muslims could not only protect themselves from this invasion by reverting to Allah and obeying the Holy Prophet (saw), but also regain their lost glory and eminence in the world.
Former JI chief said that if Muslim rulers refuse to follow the dictates from the US and strive for the supremacy of Islam, they could earn divine blessings both in this world and Hereafter.
He noted that the West wants to propagate immorality and nudity in Muslim youths and is also out to shatter Muslim family system. In such a situation, it is the duty of the Muslim women to promote Qur'anic teachings and culture of their ancestors at home. Daughters should observe Hijab and other Islamic traditions, he added.
The programme organiser, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees and JI foreign wing chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz also spoke on the occasion. The course was attended by thousands of people from the area including women.
