Secretary Health Punjab Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan has said that the officers of the health department would have to work with more responsibility and dedication to establish their trust in general public by paying special focus on service delivery. He said that the officers and the doctors of the hospitals should behave with the people in a good manner.
He expressed these views while addressing a high-level meeting of the department. Besides, Special Secretary Health, Waseem Mukhtar, Additional Secretary (Estt) Dawood Muhammad Khan, Additional Secretary (Dev) Usman Moazam, Additional Secretary (Admin) Khursheed Zaidi, Additional Secretary (Tech) Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Sulehria and all other Deputy Secretaries and Section Officers attended the meeting.
Jehanzeb Khan said that population wise Punjab is bigger than any European country and there were a lot of issues related to health. He said that they have to work as a hardworking service providing team. He said that status of the public health is the only indicator of our performance and if people are not satisfied, the performance of health department comes under the question mark.
He further said that only high roof buildings and latest medical equipment is not sufficient to the best health care but it is the human input, which matter more in this regard. He said that behavioural changes in the health providers are very important for the successful treatment of the patients. He said that performance audit of the officers of the health department would be conducted and desired that hard working and dedicated officers should be the part of his team.
