Gold prices on Wednesday touched a previous high level of Rs 40,842 per 10 grams on the local market, but silver prices posted a slight decline, of Rs 47 per 10 grams, traders said. Gold prices registered an increase of Rs 600 per tola to Rs 47,650 per tola while the price of 10 gram of yellow metal hit the previous record high of Rs 40,842 up from Rs 40,800.
Gold prices on the international markets were quoted at $1507 an ounce, up from $1505, traders said. The price of silver per 10 grams was Rs 1360.14, down by Rs 47.14, they said, adding that silver price of per tola had declined by Rs 55 to Rs 1525 on the local market.
