Gold prices on Thursday struck the height ever mark of Rs 48,400 per tola on the local market after international market prices reached new peak of $1533 an ounce, traders said. Gold prices surged from Rs 47, 650 per tola with a rise of Rs 750 in a single day of business, traders said, adding gold price per 10 grams also reached new height to Rs 41, 485 up from Rs 40, 842.
International price of gold was quoted $1533 an ounce up from $1507, with an increase of $26, they said. The price of silver per 10 grams reached Rs 1380 from Rs 1360.14, they said, adding the silver per tola price had gone up to Rs 1610 from Rs 1525 on the local market.
