Federal Minister for Science and Technology Changez Khan Jamali has asked Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Ministry of Science and Technology, to devise mechanism to provide safe drinking water to the masses at affordable rates.
He said this during his visit to regional office, Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, Ministry of Science and Technology here on Monday. The minister said on the occasion that PCRWR was introducing a water-purifying tablet very soon. This tablet will disinfect the 20-litre water of the microbial substance, he added.
The minister was also given presentation by the Regional Director PCRWR. He was informed that PCRWR is responsible for water management and conservation and ground water conservation while the Council is presently working on how to improve efficiency of the water distribution system. The minister appreciated the PCRWR for establishing district water quality laboratories in Punjab.
