The Karachi Port handled 55,764 tonnes of cargo including 16,774 tonnes of import cargo, 38,990 tonnes of export cargo and 4,078 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 16,774 tonnes comprised of 13,911 tonnes of containerised cargo; 298 tonnes of general cargo and 2,565 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargo of 38,990 tonnes comprised of 34,189 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,897 tonnes of general cargo and 1,904 tonnes of cement. Four ships namely Ocean Host, Permis, Salis and Hyundai Confidence with coal and three container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Permis, Salis, APL Agate and Liberty Pride carrying three container ships and vehicles carrier are currently at the berths. Two ships namely HS Challanger and APL Agate carrying two container ships expected to sail on Wednesday. Three vessels viz Chemroad Vega, MSC Ayala and Viona with oil tanker and two container ships respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz Hanjin Beijiang, Cap George, Caribbean Sea and Hansa Century with four container ships respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 84,603 tonnes of cargo includes 61,381 tonnes of import cargo, 23,222 tonnes of export cargo and 1,909 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 61,381 tonnes includes 33,293 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,000 tonnes of edible oil; 10,928 tonnes of canola seeds and 11,160 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,222 tonnes includes 4,274 tonnes of wheat; 4,968 tonnes of cement and 13,980 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four ships namely MV Deira, MV Asir, CGM Mozart and MV Golden Top sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely Paerl of Jabel Ali is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz MT CGM Mozart, MV Deira, MV Asir, MV Rana, Tycoon-II, Majestic. Paerl of Jabel Ali, Gennaro Ievoli, Olympic Serenity, Al-Azizoo and MV Golden Top are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals, furnace oil, bunker barge and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Al-Salam-II, ACX Hibiscus, CGM Wagner, Development Way and Argent Hibiscus carrying diesel oil, containers, barge loading and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz ACX Hibiscus, CGM Wagner, Argent Hibiscus and Development Way carrying containers, edible oil and barge loading are expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
