A case regarding Friday's hand-grenade attack on a gambling den at Jhatpat Market, Chakiwara No-2, Lyari was registered, here on Saturday. Kalakot police station registered a case 56/11 against unknown culprits under sections 302, 324/34 read with 7 ATA, 427 and 3/4 Explosive Act on the complaint of Summar alias Aatu.
Police said the complainant, who also received shrapnel wounds in this incident, was the resident of Armiya Apartment located at Muhammad Ali Aalvi Road. Meanwhile, officials of Bomb Disposal Squad claimed that the hand-grenade used in the incident was of the same Russian RG-65 type used in the attack on Habib Jan Baloch Estate Agency.
They said the hand grenade, which carried 250grams of high explosive, was capable to hit a object within the range of 20 metres, saying the deceased namely Mama Usman son of Chaudry, Rashid son of Yar Muhammad and Iqbal son of Ibrahim had received fatal shrapnel wounds because they were under the range of 15 metres of the attack.
