At least three more persons were killed in the ongoing spate of targeted killing in various parts of the metropolis on Friday. According to details, a 32-year-old man was shot dead at Raees Amrohi Colony Orangi Town within the limits of Iqbal Market police station. The victim Majid Hussain Zaidi son of Mubarak Hussain Zaidi, a resident of Sadiq Abad sector 11 1/2 Orangi Town, was targeted when he was going to the grocery store.
He received eight bullets and died on the spot. The culprits managed to flee from the scene. The body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim, who was an employee of one of the multinational petroleum companies and was deployed at Dockyard, was the father of two.
They said the victim had no affiliation with any political or religious party. Police suspected that it was sectarian killing as a Shia man Qamar Abbas was also gunned down on last Thursday at Iqbal Market area. A case 102/11 was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of victim's brother Riaz Hussain.
A bullet-riddled body of a Baloch man was found near KMC graveyard in the limits of Saeedabad police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body near KMC graveyard located at Mawach Goth Baldia. Police said the victim received three bullets and appeared to be Balochi speaking. They said the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, a 28-year-old man was shot dead near Moosa Lane at Yaqoob Shera Road Lyari in the remits of Baghdadi police station. The incident took place on Friday evening when two armed riders along with abductee Nadeem reached at Moosa Lane Yaqoob Shera Road and then sprayed bullets on him. Police said the victim was hit by three bullets on his upper torso and died on the spot.
The culprits managed to escape after completing this operation. They said the victim, a resident of Fida Hussain Sheikha Road Daryaabad, hailed from Hazara and had no affiliation with any political party.Police suspected that he might have been murdered by Lyari gangsters. The body was shifted to CHK for legal formalities and later handed over his family. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
