Group exhibition of selected artwork of 13 Pakistani artists for charity is in full swing and doing well in Singapore and is attracting good number of art lovers daily. According to the reports reaching here from Singapore, art lovers including Pakistanis and other countries nationals are duly appreciating the exhibits on display.
After going round the exhibition, they invariably approach participating prominent Pakistani artist of international fame Jimmy Engineer and curator Ms Sara Anjum and felicitate them for providing them an opportunity to see glimpses of best art work from Pakistan.
The exhibition titled "Artistic Fusions From Pakistan" was inaugurated by the ambassador at large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of National Heritage Board Singapore Tommy Koh at the Art House in the Old Parliament Lane on May 10 and is scheduled to continue for a day or two. The exhibition of Pakistani artists has been organised by Pakistan High Commission in Singapore, the Art House, Sony Entertainment and Friends Entertainment in collaboration with the Revivers Galleria, based in Gulberg Lahore.
Besides prominent Pakistani artist of international fame, Jimmy Engineer, other 12 artists whose selected artwork is being displayed in the exhibition are Iqbal Hussain, A.Q. Arif, A.S. Rind, Abrar Ahmad, Amjad Butt, Mansur Rahi and his artist wife Hajra Mansur, Maham Gul, Mashkoor Raza, Mussarat Arif, Salman Farooqi and Tariq Javaid who hail from Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad and other parts of the country. On the whole, more than 70 paintings including famous Pakistan Movement series of paintings and recent architectural compositions of Pakistan of Jimmy Engineer are on display in the exhibition. Pakistani High Commissioner Mrs Fauzia M. Sana, who has been visiting the exhibition occasionally, is reported to have remarked that the art work of renowned artists from Pakistan reflected the richness of Pakistan's culture and heritage, a maturity of vision through experience, and a mastery over their subject and medium. Welcoming Jimmy Engineer, she said that the presence of the internationally famous artist, Jimmy Engineer, in Singapore for the exhibition has added flame to the fire as he is not only an acclaimed artist but also a great believer in human rights.-PR
