Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has condemned Nato gun-ship helicopters' firing at a military post and termed it an attack on country's independence and sovereignty and a mockery of parliament's resolution in this regard. He called for immediate stoppage of Nato supplies in the light of the parliament's resolution and lodging strong protest with Washington on this score.
In a statement here Tuesday, he said that Nato gun-ship helicopters violated Pakistan's airspace and targeted security officials without any provocation, but the rulers as usual kept silent out of sheer cowardice which has emboldened US terrorism. Munawwar observed that two drone attacks killed around 20 innocent citizens during Senator John Kerry's visit but the rulers did not deem it necessary to lodge protest with the US senator. Meanwhile, the JI chief demanded immediate reinstatement of the dismissed KESC employees.
