The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has issued three show-cause notices to different companies, imposed fine on nine CNG stations on account of violation of rules, and suspended connections of 7 retail outlets of oil marketing companies (OMC).
This was stated by Ogra spokesman Jawad Nasim on Tuesday. He said that Ogra enforcement department during its monitoring had found that many CNG stations and oil marketing companies were not following the instructions issued by the Authority, including observing the gas load management plan.
He said that on violation of rules and regulations of the Ogra enforcement department issued 3 show-cause notices, and imposed fine on nine CNG stations on account of violation of rules and suspended connections of 7 retail outlets of OMC.
He said that Ogra was taking all possible measures to control prices of CNG and LPG. The spokesman said: "The only solution to the malpractices by the petrol stations is to intensify the checks. We have been telling the OMCs to control the unethical business practices by the petrol stations operating under their licences". Naseem said that inspections and penalising had been intensified, which would eventually compel the OMC, CNG stations, and petrol pumps to follow rules and regulations.
