Director, Co-ordination, National Logistic Cell (NLC), Brigadier, Mushtaq Bhatti has said that the cell had procured new trucks and after the arrival of the new vehicles by August this year the timely transportation of goods brought under Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) would be guaranteed.
This he stated while talking to a delegation of, which met him under the leadership of chairman SCCI standing committee on Railway and Dryport. Others members of the delegation were chairman, standing committee on Pak-Afghan Traders Groups, Abdul Hameed Gurwara and Farooq Ahmad.
On this occasion official of the NLC included General Manager (GM) Logistic, Colonel (Retd) Mohammad Ahsan, Protocol Incharge and Co-ordinator, Lieutenant Colonel Agha Asad Farooq Khan. Talking to the delegation, Director, Co-ordination, Operations and Business, Brigadier, Mushtaq Bhatti assured that all possible facilities would be provided for the supply of goods brought under Afghan Transit Trade and all difficulties faced by the business community in this regard would be resolved.
The delegation informed Director Co-ordination NLC about the problems being faced by them including non-availability of NLC trucks, levy of charges on trucks of HMT parked in private parking and non-co-operation of staffers of NLC deputed by Amangar Dryport.
They told him that due to non provision of facilities the business of Afghan Transit Trade is shifting to Iran from Bandar Abbas port as a result of which government will not only face loss of billion of rupees in revenue collection, but also thousands of labourers and people associated with this business will lose employment.
Responding to the problems raised by delegation member, Brigadier Mushtaq Bhatti reiterated his assurance that all possible facilities would be provided to the business community and as the new trucks reach Pakistan the problem of delay in transportation of goods will also be resolved.
