The Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Z.A. Nizami has said that Technical education provides a boost to economic advancement and plays a significant role in the national human resource development creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life.
He was speaking at the 5th Engineering & IT Fair 2011 organised by Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT). Appreciating the exhibits on display at the Fair, Chancellor Nizami highly complemented the efforts of the students who, he observed, are producing best results in their respective fields of studies and applying practical use of their knowledge in a true sense.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Saiyid Nazir Ahmed emphasised students should continuously keep themselves updated with the latest information and knowledge in the area of learning to be enabling to compete in the market and industry.
The Convenor AIT, Engr. Muhammad Adil Usman, described the projects on display as innovative and motivational and said these do enhance the employability skill of the students. He informed that within a short span, AIT achieved a good recognition and acknowledgement for its excellent performance, as it enjoyed the driving force and vision of great reformer and educationist Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, behind its entire efforts.
5th Engineering & IT Fair attracted a very large number of audience and proved to be a commendable venture of projects on display - highlighting the interplay of academics, business and technology. The 2-day event was attended by a large number of students and dignitaries who evinced keen interest in some 250 projects on display.
Later prizes were distributed among top three winners in 7 categories. Chancellor Z.A. Nizami gave prizes to the students of Computer Science and Electronic departments. The projects Shopping Cart System of Computer Science department and Digital Clock by Using Seven Segment Display of Electronic department secured 1st prizes in the competition. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Saiyid Nazir Ahmed, Principal AIT Abdul Rauf and Convenor AIT Muhammad Adil Usman also presented prizes to winning students.-PR
