I would like to extend my heartiest congratulation to all the Members, Students, and staff of ICAMP at the 60th Management Accountant Day. The Institute was founded on 23rd May 1951 and got statutory status in 1966 through Cost and Management Accountants Act 1966.
ICMAP was established with an aim to provide not only high caliber professional Cost & Management Accountants but also produce "cultured and useful citizens for the country".
Alhamdulillah the member of the ICMAP has proved their abilities by acquiring Top-level positions in business, trade and Industry.
The Management Accountant Day - 2011 and a conference on (Role of Financial Sector in the Development of Economy) will provide a forum for the financial sector specialists to share the way forward for the Economic development of the Country. It will also help the young Management Accountants to gain experience, learn new ideas and make contacts that will be valuable for their career planning and development.
If we look back into the history of ICMAP we can see that management accountants have played very important role in public and private sectors, ICMAP has also got the honour of providing the first Finance Minister to Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, who is the founder of ICMAP. More than five hundred management accountants in Pakistan are working in a very senior management positions like CEOs, Directors, CFOs and COOs, almost two hundred members are working abroad and dozens are working under various ministries in various senior levels, and we expect that the Government will consider the success story of ICMAP and provide new avenues for the Management Accountants by allowing audit of accounts Under Section 254 of the companies ordinance 1984 which will help to boost the economy and create transparency in auditing culture in Pakistan.
I am very much hopeful and optimistic that our future management accountants will lead the Institute in a better way and will always keep the moral of the Institute higher.
I once again congratulate all of you for the successful completion of sixty years of ICM AP and pray for its future success and prosperity.
