The Karachi Port handled 95,747 tonnes of cargo including 43,674 tonnes of import cargo, 52,073 tonnes of export cargo and 5,234 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 43,674 tonnes comprised of 21,185 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,131 tonnes of general cargo; 5,358 tonnes of bulk cargo and 13,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,073 tonnes comprised of 27,613 tonnes of containerised cargo; 812 tonnes of general cargo; 22,330 tonnes of bulk cargo and 750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Oriental Chem-1, Danica Red, Endurance, President Folk and YM Europe carrying ethanol, general cargo, vehicles and two container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz Kassos, Abba, Thuringia Express, Kota Anggerik, Hanjin Paris, Rosy Falcon, UBC Cyprus and Endurance carrying oil tanker, steel coils, three container ships, wheat, cement and vehicles respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Bunga Aster, Kota Anggerik, Hanjin Durban, Trave Trader and Thuringia Express with palm oil and four container ships respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely UBC Cyprus, Abba, Kassos and Bravo with cement, steel coils, oil tanker and container ship are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Royal Aqua, Bravo and Ital Onore carrying high speed diesel oil and two container ships respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while ten vessels viz MT Lahore, Miramis, Ginga Caracel, OEL Trust, CSL Ride, TS Jakarta, APL Sokhna, OOCL Charleston, Alkman and Sheila Mcdevitt carrying two ethanol ships, five container ships, canola seeds and wheat respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 54,436 tonnes of cargo includes 44,863 tonnes of import cargo, 9,573 tonnes of export cargo and 937 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 44,863 tonnes includes 24,967 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,500 tonnes of edible oil; 5,016 tonnes of iron ore; 3,355 tonnes of chemicals and 8,025 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 9,573 tonnes includes 2,725 tonnes of wheat; 2,024 tonnes of cement and 4,824 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two container ships namely CV MSC Natalia and CV Izumo sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MV Gulf Coral is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eleven vessels viz CV MSC Natalia, CV Izumo, Nahide-M, Orient Chem-1, Chang Qiang, Gulf Safwa, Ginga Caracal, MV Alaska-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree and Ginga Caracal, are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, diesel oil, phosphoric, iron ore and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Alexi-I, Wales-II, Al-Salam-II, APL Chile and Margurit Rickmers carrying cement, furnace oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV APL Chile, CV Margurit Rickmers and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
