Police asked to make vigilance bodies effective

The prime responsibility of Police is to serve the citizens and every official must accord priority to ensure transparent and speedy redressal of public complaints, said SP Saddar Dr Khuram Rasheed here on Saturday. It was primary responsibility of the cops to ensure protection to the lives and property of the masses, besides curbing activities of anti-social elements, he said during a meeting with the SDPOs of his circle.
He asked the police officials to make Security and Vigilance Committees more effective with complete public support to ensure the earliest arrest of proclaimed offenders and other anti-social elements. Khuram Rasheed reviewed the performance of SHOs in Saddar Zone and directed Circle In-charges to dispose of under-investigation cases at the earliest. He also directed them to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders as well as registration of cases without any delay.
