The Karachi Port handled 148,636 tonnes of cargo including 104,244 tonnes of import cargo, 44,392 tonnes of export cargo and 5,047 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 104,244 tonnes comprised of 45,715 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,715 tonnes of DAP and 52,814 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 44,392 tonnes comprised of 36,768 tonnes of containerised cargo; 40 tonnes of general cargo; 6,674 tonnes of bulk cargo: 509 tonnes of cement; 6,165 tonnes of wheat and 910 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely CS Discovery, MSC Jemima, Emirates Wasi and MT Quetta carrying three container ships and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Hansa Constitution, CS Discovery, APL Sokhna, Kota Anggerik, Aspan Sun and MT Lahore carrying four container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Hansa Constitution, Kota Anggerik, span Sun and Oslo Trader two container ships, base oil tanker and general cargo ship expected to sail on Saturday, while five ships namely APL Sokhna, Golden Express, MT Lahore, Majestic and ERK with container ships, two oil tankers, wheat carrier and DAP carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz USCC Sound and TS Pusan with mogas carrier and container ship due to arrive on Saturday, while five vessels viz Martin, APL Zircoon, Cape Manuel, Armia and OEL Trust carrying general cargo ship and four container ships respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
MT SC Guoji sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of seven vessels viz MV Sam Eagle, MV Acacia-N, MV Orient-III, MV Glory, MT SC Guoji, MT Al-Buhaira and MV Indigo Ocean are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Angle No II, Tamil Nadu, Ataman and MSC Roberta carrying palm oil, wheat, canola seeds and containers are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz MV MSC Roberta and MT Angle No II carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Saturday.
