Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to challenge the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections in the Supreme Court. The PML-N leadership took decision to challenge the AJK elections in a meeting held at the Raiwind, chaired by the party head Nawaz Sharif.
Sources said the participants raised serious objections on the way government conducted elections, leading to a consensus to challenge it in the apex court. It may be noted that the MQM has already challenged the AJK elections a day earlier after announcing separation from the PPP-led coalition government. The Governor Sindh has also resigned from his office with breakaway between his party and the PPP.
The PML-N sources said the meeting also decided to hold party elections in the month of July and arrangements to this effect are being finalised. Meanwhile, the PML-N also decided to hold a consultative meeting in Islamabad soon to analyse political situation after separation of MQM from the government. Those who attended the meeting included Kh Asif, Tehmina Daultana, Kh Saad Rafique, Chaudhry Nazeer, Ahsan Iqbal and others.
