Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bashir Bilour on Sunday said that government has decided in principle to restore Local Government (LG) system in the province after brining some amendments in its legislation for making the process more transparent.
He expressed these views while addressing a public gathering after inaugurating a number of schemes regarding improvement of streets and health related schemes at Chistiabad area in Hazar Khawani.
Bashir Bilour said his party, Awami National Party (ANP), will sweep the upcoming local bodies elections on the basis of hard work its leadership done for the betterment of the people of the country in particular and province in general.
In his address, Senior Minister, Bashir Bilour said that he will continue his services for the betterment of people of Peshawar, especially of his constituency who are reposing confidence in him since the last two decades and making his victorious in the general elections since 1988.
Bashir Bilour said the provincial government, despite of the fact that it faced a lot of problems due to ongoing wave of militancy and floods, has not stopped the wheel of development and spread a web of developmental schemes in the province. He also apprised the participants of the gathering that developmental schemes amounting up to Rs five million were launched in every union council of his constituency, Niabat.
He said the biggest change being faced by government was maintenance of peace in the province and the provincial government successfully achieved this goal. Similarly, he said, efforts were continued for enhancing province's share from federal government in NFC award and release of net hide profits. The struggle of provincial government bore fruit and the province's share exceed under both the heads, he added.
Senior Minister said it is the aim and objective of present government to improve the living standard of people of the province and for this purpose efforts are underway. He said the people would start reaping the fruit of 18th amendment through use of province's own resources. He said passage and implementation of 18th amendment is a landmark achievement and this decision will play a significant role in development of KP and Pakistan as well.
