Willim Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has said that the efforts of police and other law enforcers of Pakistan are source of inspiration, as they played great part in war against terrorism.
Brownfield paid a visit to Police Line Headquarters Islamabad on Monday to acknowledge the services and sacrifices of martyred policemen and other law enforcers. He laid floral wreath at National Police Martyrs' Monument and appreciated the performance of capital cops and other policemen. DIG (Headquarters) Ahmed Mukaram, SSP (Headquarters) Zubair Ahmed Hashmi and other police officials were also present.
On arrival, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan welcomed the visiting US dignitary and a smartly turned out contingent of Islamabad Police presented guard of honour to him. He paid tributes to law enforcers of Pakistan, saying that these valiant soldiers of Pakistan have wrote a golden chapter in the history with their blood and stamped out the scourge of terrorism from the soil. Soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty have defeated terrorists and ensured peace in the lives of their countrymen, he added.
He said that these brave men defended the country and also its people through sacrificing their own lives. It is their sacrifices and gallant attitude which make the whole nation of Pakistan proud in the world about its commitment to root out the menace of terrorism and extremism, he added. The IGP Islamabad said that the names of martyred personnel of four federal police organisations, four provincial police organisations, AJK Police and Gilgit-Baltistan have been displayed on the stones of this monument.
