The registrar said perks and privileges of the members of the judiciary in the Punjab are better as compared to other civil departments, therefore, there should be zero tolerance in dealing with corrupt people, he added.
He said the Lahore High Court, under the guidance of Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry is fighting this menace on a war footing, therefore, 18 Judges of District Courts and 267 their subordinates have been penalised during the period for the last one year.
According to details issued by LHC registrar one Sessions Judge was compulsorily retired, two AD&SJs and two civil judges have also been dismissed. Whereas minor penalties such as stoppage of annual increments, severe warnings/censure have been imposed upon 01 Sessions Judge, 01 ASJ and 7 Civil Judges.
During the period under review as many as 89 officials of the district court throughout the Punjab were proposed to be fired, however, after scrutiny 57 of them were removed from service and minor penalties ranging from stoppages of annual increments to censure were slapped on 210 officials of the District judiciary.
