Pakistan Textile City Limited organised a project pre-launch event at a local hotel. Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Makhdoom Shahabuddin was the chief guest on the occasion. Other attendees included leading textile industrialists, foreign diplomats, and heads of textile associations. There was a keen interest demonstrated in the Textile City project.
The minister affirmed that Textile City will be a key to the revival of the textile sector and enhance exports. He offered complete support from Government of Pakistan to make Textile City a benchmark industrial zone. CEO of Pakistan Textile City, Zaheer A. Hussain briefed the gathering on the details and current status of the project located at Eastern Industrial Zone, Port Qasim. He announced sale of plots will InshaAllah commence from mid July 2011.
Hussain also said that the launch would boost the growth of value added textiles in Pakistan and benefit local and foreign investors to effectively optimise their return on investment. Advisor to the Prime Minister on Textiles, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and Advisor to Chief Minister of Sindh on Investment, Sindh Board of Investment, Zubair Motiwala also shared details about the project and its impact on growth of the industry.-PR
