The first urea vessel, MV Saim Jade, carrying 25,000 tons urea will reach Gwadar Port on Monday, July 11, 2011. According to a press release issued here by TCP on Friday, the second ship, MV Sun Enterprise, carrying identical, quantity is scheduled to sail Al-Jubail Port on July 14, 2011 and would call at Gwadar Port on July 18, 2011.
Against the urea imported through tenders, two ships, MV Pu Tou Hai, carrying 50,000 tons, and MV Hai Yu, carrying 25,000 tons urea are scheduled to sail from Yuzny Port, Ukraine, and Bayuquan Port, China, on July 9, and will arrive at Gwadar/Karachi Port in 10-12 days'' time.
In pursuance of ECC of the Cabinet decision to meet urgent requirement of farmers for Rabi crop, Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has lined up prompt import of 150,000 tons urea. Out of this, 100,000 tons has been procured through open tender, whereas 50,000 tons is being imported from Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), under the Saudi Fund for development credit facility. Initially, M/s Sabic had assured to supply the committed quantity of urea during second half of July 2011. However, it has started shipments well before its committed period.-PR
