Probe into allotment of land in Gwadar: Justice Miskanzai made Commission of Inquiry

The Federal Government on Friday appointed Justice Muhammad Miskanzai Judge of Balochistan High Court as Commission of Inquiry to look into the allotment of land in Gwadar. The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Division has issued a notification regarding appointment of an Inquiry Commission for the land allotment issue in Gwadar.
Following is the text of the Notification: "Whereas the Federal Government is of opinion that it is necessary in the public interest to hold judicial inquiry to look into the matters of allotment of land at Gwadar. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 and Sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Pakistan Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956 (VI of 1956), the Federal Government is pleased to appoint Justice Muhammad Miskanzai, Judge of Balochistan High Court as Commission of Inquiry to look into the allotment of land at Gwadar;
2. The provisions of Sub-sections (2),(3),(4),(5), and (6) of Section 5 and other relevant provisions of the aforesaid Act shall apply to the Commission. 3. The Commission shall examine the record of the allotment of land at Gwadar.
4. The Commission shall have the power to summon record and persons and record evidence etc.
5. The Commission shall be assisted by all the concerned persons, authorities and departments of the Federal Government as well as provincial governments in particular Government of Balochistan in discharge of its function. 6. The Commission shall initiate inquiry immediately and complete the same and submit its report with appropriate recommendations to the Federal Government within two months of the commencement of the inquiry or within such period as may be extended by the Federal Government at the instance of the Commission. 7. The secretariat assistance and logistic support shall be provided by the Ministry of Ports and Shipping and where required by the Board of Revenue Government of Balochistan."
