The newly assigned Sindh Minister for Works and Services, Dr Zulfikar Mirza, on Saturday called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, at the CM House here. Sindh Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani, and Sindh Minister Law and Tourism Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that current financial year is being observed as 'Year of Development in Sindh Province' and all departments should initiate, propose and execute those development schemes in an atmosphere and spirit to provide maximum facilities to deprived people of province particularly the people residing in rural areas and less developed areas of urban cities and towns.
He emphasised the need that all ministers should make efforts to complete those on-going schemes which are nearer to completion. Syed Qaim Ali Shah stressed that maximum schemes of health, education, works and services etc be undertaken and network of roads be spread which is essential for development and progress of the province.
He also directed that Gorakh Development project be given priority and necessary facilities be initiated and completed so as to provide recreational facilities to people there. The meeting also reviewed other schemes aimed to provide facilities to the people. Meanwhile, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and Pir Mazhar ul Haq will work as the senior ministers in the Sindh cabinet.
This was announced in an official statement issued here on Saturday. The press spokesman of the Sindh Chief Minister has denied reports aired by some of the electronic channels that the status of Pir Mazhar as senior minister has been withdrawn.
