President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday strongly condemned the suicide attack in Battagram, near the public gathering of PML-Q leader Ameer Muqam and expressed determination of the government to fight extremism and terrorism and reach a logical conclusion.
The president telephoned the PML-Q leader and expressed solidarity with him. He enquired about his wellbeing and asked him to convey his sympathies to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the heinous attack. He said that the attempts by the terrorists, now to target the political leaders, are highly condemnable. He reiterated that the country's law-enforcement agencies and the government are determined to rooting out terrorism from the country. The president asked the local authorities to ensure that best possible treatment is provided to those injured in the attack. He also called for taking stringent measures to ensure that there is no recurrence of such incidents.
