The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman and veteran leader urged to observe the martyrs day on Wednesday (today) to pay tributes to martyrs of 1931 in Indian Held Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe the Kashmir Martyrs Day to reaffirm their commitment to continue the martyrs' mission till its logical conclusion.
On 13 July in 1931 the Dogra troops shot dead 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside Central Jail in Srinagar. The day will be marked by a complete shutdown and marches in the occupied territory and two massive marches towards Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar where martyrs of 1931 are buried.
Seminars and conferences will be held in Srinagar, Muzaffarabad and world capitals to highlight the Kashmir dispute on this day. APHC leaders, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Muhammad Azam Inqalabi, Yasmeen Raja, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Muhammad Yousaf Naqash paying rich tributes to the 1931 martyrs said that they had laid down their lives for a sacred cause. On the other hand, the occupation authorities placed veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani under house arrest in Srinagar on Tuesday. Indian police arrested senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah from Pulwama when he was on his way to Rajpora to express solidarity with the family of a youth recently martyred by Indian troops in the area.
