Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Tuesday that representatives of Balochistan Chamber of Commerce would be included in delegations during bilateral dialogue with Iran and Afghanistan for the purpose of enhancing trade activities.
He said this while talking to the members of trade and commerce delegation who called on him here at the Governor House. He said the federal government is making efforts for increasing the volume of trade in the country particularly in Balochistan province to help create employment opportunities. He said that rise in economic activities would enhance the energy of youth and thereby help reduce crime and terrorism. "One reason for his visit to Balochistan is to listen to the representatives of the people about the work and performance of the federal government's institutions," the Prime Minister said.
He said that he has directed the federal ministers to visit Balochistan once a month to help resolve the problems when faced by their ministries in Balochistan. He said that important projects in the province are being completed in minimum time with the amount jointly funded by the federal and provincial governments and added that the federal government's projects which are close to completion would be given special priority.
He said the issue of Balochistan including its development would be taken up in the federal cabinet's meeting to be held tomorrow (Wednesday). The prime minister said he had directed Chairman FBR, Export Promotion Bureau, Secretary Commerce, Chairman NHA and other officials to frequently visit Balochistan and meet the relevant people in order to help resolve the problems of the business community.
He said that the projects of power transmission lines including those of Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan and Dadu-Khuzdar would be completed shortly. The Prime Minister said he and the chief minister of Balochistan would jointly inaugurate these projects.
