Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) and Madina Group of Industries, Faisalabad, on Wednesday signed four memorandum of understandings (MoUs) to enhance research and industrial linkage for high quality products of international standards.
In this regard, a signing ceremony was held here at PCSIR, in which PCSIR Chairman Dr Shaukat Parvez and Madina Group of Industries Chairman Mian Muhammad Hanif signed the MoUs on behalf of their respective organisations. While giving press briefing, the PCSIR Chairman said such accords helped to produce high calibre scientists and researchers in the various disciplines of science and technology.
"It will also help to initiate collaborative high-tech research and development (R&D) activities in the interest of common man and development of the country." Under the scope of these MoUs, PCSIR will provide technical consultancy relating to quality testing, assurance and improvements in the products of Madina Group of Industries. These products are being manufactured under the umbrella of Faisalabad oil Refinery (Karachi), Madina Sugar Mills (Faisalabad) and Madina Enterprises "Steel Division" (Chiniot).
Moreover, Madina Group of Industries is also operating an educational institute "The University of Faisalabad (a Chartered University)", for which PCSIR will provide access to the students of the university in their laboratories to carry out applied research under the supervision of scientists and engineers of PCSIR.
These MoUs will be executed by PCSIR laboratories complexes, Lahore and Karachi. It is pertinent to mention here that as per directions and guidelines of Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, PCSIR is continuously making its utmost efforts to establish strong relationship with academia, industries and R&D institutions.
