'Political parties should play role to establish peace'

Pakistan Peoples Party's Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday said that all political parties must play their crucial role for maintaining peace in Karachi. Kaira distanced his party from Mirza's recent statement and said that the PPP respects MQM chief Altaf Hussain and his mandate. "I feel sorry for Zulfiqar Mirza's statement," he added.
He stressed that in this situation, political parties should avoid blame game and issuing such type of statements against each other as it creates hurdles. Kaira said that PPP will continue the policy of reconciliation and situation in Karachi will be settled soon. He said that media should play its positive role and exercise maximum level of responsibility while reporting the facts in current situation.
