Bearish sentiment was seen on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday as many commodities tended lower particularly wheat prices continued fall in process of trading, dealers said. On the cereal side, most of the items fell, particularly wheat continued decline as the government has announced to bring down the prices of essentials, including staple food, they added.
Wheat old and new Bardan lost Rs 25 to Rs 2525-2540, moong Sindh was sharply lower by Rs 1025 to Rs 8000, masoor Canada followed the same pattern, losing Rs 500 to Rs 5500, masoor Canada dal shed the same amount to Rs 7000, Urad Burma was down by Rs 2000 to Rs 2900, they said.
On the seed side, Irri-6 Sindh inched up as low type gained Rs 25 to Rs 3600 and better quality was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3700, prices of Basmati number 386, however, came down as low type shed Rs 200 to Rs 6000 and best quality dropped by Rs 300 to Rs 6200, other items maintained overnight levels in process of trading, they said. A solo deal was reported on the seed side, where cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type shed Rs 55 to Rs 1125 and good type was lower by Rs 25 to Rs 1175 owing to steady supply position, they said.
