Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani reiterated Saturday that all political forces of the country must strive together for peace and security throughout the country to create conducive environment for stepping up the pace of development. The people, he added, are looking towards the elected representatives to help resolve their problems. It is only possible by adopting collective approach, he noted.
The Prime Minister was talking to Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah soon after his arrival at Governor House from Islamabad. He emphasised that parliament is the right forum to deliberate upon all significant national issues and propose solutions for redressing them. Prime Minister Gilani appreciated the solidarity and support expressed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader, Altaf Hussain for "Aman Rally" by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). This gesture, he said, reflects the political maturity of MQM leadership, which will help in maintaining peace in Karachi, the economic hub of the country.
Earlier, Governor and Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on political and security situation in Karachi and other parts of province. They also apprised of the development work in different parts of Sindh. They also appreciated Prime Minister's efforts for development and reconciliation among political parties.
