Chairman Board of Investment, Saleem H Mandviwalla said on Thursday that negotiations were going on with various companies for provision of comfortable and reliable transport facility in the country. Talking to a five member delegation of Foton China, a bus company, the BoI Chairman said that government was fully encouraging investment in country's transport sector.
He said that provision of best and quality transport facilities to the masses is the priority of the government and solid steps are being taken in this regard. A 5-member delegation of M/s Foton China comprising Ye Zhaoyou, Zhang Jun, Perry Blackerby, Liu Liran, Xu Qingli and Zhao Bin called on Mandviwalla on Thursday.
Mandviwalla appreciated the delegation for commitment to bring Chinese companies into Pakistan, initially Foton Bus Service Company, which is further strengthening a strong link between the two countries. The Vice President of Foton Group ye Zhaoyou, said that the key to Foton success was quality and dedication towards their products, adding Foton was a name associated with commitment and perseverance, known world-wide for their traditional quality and excellence of products.
CNG City and Inter-City buses are both designed and engineered in the USA and custom-made in China according to the specification and requirements. An MOU (200 to 300 CNG/LPG buses) has already been signed with Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry and these buses have started operating city to city and inter city (within Sialkot). Lahore Transport Company has also made an agreement with Foton Transport Company Beijing for getting CNG buses under which this company will provide 111 CNG buses within next few months.

Foton is investing in the areas of auto and transport sector of Pakistan, Mass Transit System in major cities and assembly line for cars, light /medium and heavy duty trucks as there is a huge potential market available in Pakistan.
