The Site Association of Industry (SAI) has decided not to hold this year its annual event, Eid Bachat Bazaar, due to the prevailing law and order condition in the city as the participants are hesitant to take part due to prevailing risk.
The annual event of Site Association Eid Bachat bazaar was scheduled to be held from August 5 to 16, 2011 to facilitate industrial workers and their families to get daily use items, other goods and products at factory price, or even less, to celebrate Eid and observe Ramazan.
The association had invited Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan who had consented to inaugurate the Bazaar on August 5, 2011. Site Association Eid Bachat Bazaar was the biggest source for the factory workers and their families to get different products including food products, garments, crockery, bangles, cosmetics, shoes, artificial jewellery, decorating items, cloth, blankets, knitwear, hosiery, facial uplifting products, perfumes, scents, shampoo, hair oils, electronic appliances, durable plastic furniture, kitchen items, foot wears, rice, pulses, syrups juices and soft drinks, confectionery, chocolates, nimco, edible oils, dry fruits, canned foods, tea, beverages, honey, sauces, home textile, bed wears, towels etc on 10 to 25 percent discount. The association has been holding the Bachat Bazaar for last 17 years regularly and this was 18th in a row, which was cancelled.
