Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja on Sunday said that one million children of BISP beneficiaries would be sent to schools during September and October.
According to a statement issued here, Farzana Raja said that over Rs 88 billion have been distributed among the poor by the BISP and only Rs 25 billion have been distributed among the families recommended by the parliamentarians belonging to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Likewise, more than Rs 13 billion has been distributed on the recommendations of parliamentarians belonging to the party of Mian Nawaz Sharif, she added. The number of beneficiary families registered with the BISP would rise up to seven million by September.
She said that 96 percent of the nation-wide poverty survey had already been completed with enrolment of over 5.4 million families with the BISP.
