The Karachi Port handled 155,953 tonnes of cargo including 98,177 tonnes of import cargo, 57,776 tonnes of export cargo and 2,494 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 98,177 tonnes comprised of 49,885 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,560 tonne of general cargo; 4,290 tonnes of rock phosphate and 41,442 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 57,776 tonnes comprised of 55,231 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,232 tonnes of general cargo and 1,313 tonnes of cement. Ten ships namely YM Fuzhou, Emirates Wasi, CSL Ride, Kota Arif, Lodestar Genesis, Sky Dream, Alliance Beaumont, Green Line, Iron Monger-5 and Wilma carrying four container ships, two oil tankers, car carrier, cement ship, bunker ship and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Nine vessels viz Kota Arif, APL Ruby, APL Sharjah, Alliance Beaumont, Lodestar Genesis, MT Karachi, Sky Dream, Iron Monger-5 and Wilma carrying three container ships, car carrier, three oil tankers, bunker ship and general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Karadeniz Powership, APL Ruby and OOCL Charleston with power ship and two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Monday, while four ships namely APL Sharjah, Praia, Positano and MT Karachi with three container ships and crude oil tanker are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Two vessels viz Lindavia and Praia carrying two container ships due to arrive on Monday, while eight vessels viz Fair Express, Angel No 1, Northern Valence, Hyundai Independence, STX Patriakos, APL Japan, Prem Apama and Jin Hyang carrying mogas carrier, chemicals ship, four container ships coal carrier and steel carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 65,580 tonnes, comprising 36,348 tonnes of import cargo and 29,232 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,518 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 36,348 tonnes includes 19,503 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,055 tonnes of urea and 14,790 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 29,232 tonnes includes 731 tonnes of corn; 485 tonnes of cement and 28,016 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two container ships namely CV Maersk Utah and CV MSC Magali sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of seven vessels CV Maersk Utah, CV MSC Magali, MV Alexi-I, MV Alaska-II, MV Hai Yu, MV New Sun and MT Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, corn and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Four Bay, Olympic Spirit and Tycon-II carrying furnace oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz CV ACX Lily is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday. Two container ships namely CV Hanjin Portland and CV SL Michigan due to arrive on Tuesday. A total number of two container ships namely CV Glory and CV CMA CGM Rossini are also due to arrive at the Port Qasim.
