Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday declared the degree of PML (Q) MPA Syeda Majida Zaidi as fake and ordered the relevant district police officer (DPO) to lodge first information report (FIR) against her. ECP heard a total of five cases of fake degree holders on Thursday including a case filed against Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasir MNA.
The case of Sardar Nasir was dismissed for having no validity. According to the details, Sardar Muhammad Israr Tareen had moved an application against Sardar Nasir alleging that he had not submitted election expenditures. The hearing of fake degree cases of MPAs Ijaz Ahmad Noon (PP-209), M. Khan Toor MPA (PB-16) and Senator Mir Israrullah Khan Zehri was fixed on September 26 with the reservation that no more adjournments in future.
The case of MNA Dewan Ashiq Bukhari (NA 153) was not heard as it was in Supreme Court. Chief Election Commissioner former Justice Hamid Ali Mirza, former Justice Fazalur Rehman, former Justice Shahzad Akbar Khan, former Justice Riaz Kayani and former Justice M Roshan Essani heard the petitions.
