Minorities enjoy equal rights in the eyes of law and constitution. Lahore Police will ensure provision of foolproof security and protection to the minorities in the provincial metropolis. This was stated by CCPO while talking to a 10-member delegation of All Pakistan Minorities Association, which called on him on the occasion of International Minority Day under the leadership of its president Jacob Masieh, here Thursday.
The CCPO assured the delegation that special security has been deputed at minorities' religious places, churches and other congregations, so that they do not face any difficulty with regard to performance of their religious rituals. He said that, as for as proper protection of minorities was concerned, he believes in practical results rather than making tall claims.
He further said that police station in-charges and officials had been directed not to show any laxity with regard to ensuring protection and providing security to the minorities in the city. He further informed the delegation that comprehensive security is also being extended to foreign delegations, important personalities, public congregations and religious rituals' ceremonies in the provincial metropolis. The CCPO said in order to set up a welfare society, it is the need of the hour to express solidarity with minority community by ensuring protection of their life and property and elimination of societal crimes.
