Supply of water to different areas in the city has been halted for the last two days due to disconnection of electricity supply to Gharo Pumping Station of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB), said a statement issued by Water Board here on Friday.
It said the electricity supply to the Gharo Pumping Station interrupted on the night of August 11 at about 01:50 hours, which had not been restored even after a lapse of 38 hours. The power supply was restored only for a minor period of time, it added. The water supply has been disturbed to areas including Landhi, Cattle Colony, Korangi, Future Colony, Shah Faisal Colony, Nineth Mile and PECHS Society.
