Three policemen were killed when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate firing at police van carrying prisoners for medical check-up on University Road Friday, police said. Two prisoners who were in custody of police also escaped during firing, police added.
The gunmen ambushed the vehicle of Peshawar Police when it reached University town for medical check-up of the prisoners at Khyber College of Dentistry. The cops killed in the incident were identified as Tariq, Asad Jaffar and Raees Khan. Police have cordoned off the area and started search operation in University Town.
