Punjab Labour Minister Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that FCPS part II training will be commenced at Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital Multan Road, Lahore and Nawaz Sharif Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences will be setup at the hospital for the postgraduate training. He said that social security hospitals will be affiliated with various hospitals and terms and conditions are being formulated for this purpose.
While talking to delegations of labourers, Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that the focus of the government is upon primary and protective healthcare so that to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), to achieve the targets, Rs 8.5 billion will be spent in the province, whereas, Punjab government has reserved Rs 42.30 billion for the provision of healthcare facilities to the people in the province during current fiscal year.
He said that labourers hospitals would be updated and new social security hospitals will be established at Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan and Jhang, whereas, Rs 440 million will be provided for the purchase of latest medical equipment. He said that the social security is introducing hospital management information system costing rupees 107 million, the scheme would be introduced at the dispensary level in phases.
Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that government is giving top priority to the provision of state of the art healthcare facilities to the labourers and the main objective of the labour department is to provide free of cost comprehensive healthcare facilities to the workers and their family members.
