The Lahore High Court (LHC) while disposing of a petition filed against appointment of DDO Health Kamalia, directed Secretary Health to decide the matter without seeking political pressure from any member parliament. The court passed these orders in a petition filed by Dr Aftab Ahmed who said DDO is a post of 19 grade and no officer was in the district of this grade.
However secretary health had appointed him against this post for being senior most officer in the district at grade 18 but local MPA Nazia Raheel get appointed Dr Amin against the said post who was working on grade 17. He contended that the action of the respondent secretary to withdraw his appointment orders and appoint a junior person against the senior most post was illegal and without lawful authority.
He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the respondent secretary to re-appoint him against the post for being senior most officers in the district. The court after hearing the petitioner counsel at length disposed of the petition with direction to make the appointment on merit without seeking any political influence.
