Minister for Labour Punjab Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that labour department will spend Rs 4.1 billion for the provision of state of the art healthcare facilities to the labourers and their families out of which Rs 2,427,520,620/- will be used up for the social security hospital, whereas, Rs 1,134,605,000/- will be paid out to social security dispensaries and Rs 440 million will be utilised for purchase of medical equipment.
He said that government has reserved Rs 42.30 billion for the provision of healthcare facilities to the people in the province. While addressing a delegations of doctors, paramedics and labourers, Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi here on Thursday said that the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in LHWs covered area is 147/100,000 live births, compared 300 to 350/100,000 to uncovered areas, therefore, the LHWs, LHVs and the community midwives were being appointed at all the health centres in remote areas.
