Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro authorities have said that the academic activities in the university are going on peacefully and as per schedule. The university authorities are determined to ensure peace in the university and those involved in attempting to disrupt peaceful academic atmosphere will be dealt with firmly and strictly.
This decision was taken in the meeting of the academic heads, presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the institute. The meeting took account of the rumours being spread by some student political organisations and expressed its satisfaction regarding the security measures taken by the to maintain peace, law & order in the university by deploying heavy contingent of the police and Rangers in the campus.
The Vice Chancellor assured the students of providing security while they are attending their classes. He assured that and foolproof security is being ensured for city points/student transport and it is plying on the designated routes of the city. It was assured that those who are found involved in anti-academic and unlawful activities on the campus or intercepting schedule of transport and students' points, will be taken disciplinary proceedings against in accordance with the conduct and discipline regulations of the varsity.
MUET also requested the parents of the students to ensure attendance of their wards in their classes without any fear or danger, as all possible security arrangements have been made in this regard. MUET administration condemns those who are spreading a feeling of communal divide in the educational institution. The authorities are committed to maintain and secure the academic status and recognition the varsity has achieved at the world level, and will not allow anyone to put any harm to it.
