Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan on Friday warned that present chaos in Karachi, which has brought life to stand-still in the country, must be reined in or it will mar the future of democracy. The PTI chief, condemning the ongoing civil war in Karachi, said that governance has collapsed and the government is watching the situation with indifference while innocent lives are being lost.
"The present government is the worst in Pakistan's history. If the present chaos is allowed to continue it would threaten the future of democracy in Pakistan", he maintained. Khan said that said that the bad law and order is a direct consequence of the poor governance and rampant corruption that has paralysed the law enforcement agencies including the police. "It seems there is no government in Pakistan to protect the life and property of citizens. Citizens from Karachi to Khyber have been left at the mercy of criminals and terror groups which are backed by political elements", he added.
The real opposition to the present chaos in the country, he added, is mobilising the people on the streets, for which his party is struggling. He said the historic dharna in Islamabad on August 13 during Ramadan has proved beyond any doubt that the people demand change.
